I'm a dandelion but I am not just a silly weed
I do my part giving the world all the oxygen it needs
Don't unearth me just because you think I am not pretty
Because that would be pretty... pretty mean.

Unlike the other flowers that you actually have to try to grow
I grow all on my own and thus I am no work for you, you know
And if you hardly wait at all I'll form a set of pretty seeds
That's like a fuzzy ball and if you blow on me you'll shortly see
A wish I wish you wished come true to grow a hundred more of me
Can't I wish to be as grand and majestic as the mighty trees?
But this is not in vain for you because there's magic in my seeds
And if you blow on me and make a wish another thing you'll see
I can make your wish come true, and then you'll be so very pleased
So can't you see you really shouldn't bother picking me?

I'm a friend of the bees and they make honey that you eat
So if you want a treat that's sweet you'd better let me be to greet
The sun who's shining in the sky, whose rays I need or else I'll die.
Confused? Sit down and let me try to teach you why.
I take H2O and CO2 in photosynthesis
And make some simple sugar structures that the bees don't want to miss
A sweetly nectar that the bees will take back home into their hive
To store as honey so when other food is scarce they'll stay alive.

We are dandelions but we are not all just silly weeds
We do our part giving the world all the oxygen it needs.
